Services Held for Mrs. Randy Larson
Funeral services for Mrs. Randy Larson, who passed away on Sept. 18, were held Sept. 20 at 1:30 in the Riis funeral home and 2 o'clock in the Palestine church, with Rev. Harry Stoutland in charge and Rev. Peder Buland assisting.
Mrs. LaVerne Richardson sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and Rev. Stoutland offered prayer at the funeral home. At the service in the church, Rev. Stoutland delivered the sermon and Mrs. Larson's former pastor, Rev. Buland, brought a message of comfort to the relatives. Mrs. LaVerne Richardson sand two solos, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "No Night There." The many floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Andrew Wee and Mrs. Joe Travase.
Pallbearers were Elmer Dobbe, Henry Dobbe, Miller Wee, Newtie Wee, Bert Wood and Sylvan Wood.
Burial was in Palestine cemetery.
Randy Marie Larson was born Oct. 2, 1863, near Huxley. She was a life-long member of the Palestine church, having been confirmed in 1878.
In 1887 she was united in marriage to Sam Larson. To this union were born two sons, Roy of Los Angeles and Arthur of Huxley.
In addition to her two sons, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Betsy Woods of Eagle Grove, and brother, Ole Dobbe of Huxley; also five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; two sisters, Mrs. T. K. Tweedt and Mrs. Lars Wee and two brothers, Lars and John Dobbe.
She passed away in the home of her son, Arthur, at 4 a. m. on Sept. 18, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 16 days.
