THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, April 14, 1887, pae 1, column 3.
“- DIED: - April 11th, 1887, of inflammation of the bowels, little Johny Shechter, aged 8 yrs, 11 mo, and 17 days. Little Johny’s sudden death has made a sad vacancy in the family circle, where he was so much loved, and also in the circle of school mates where he was highly esteemed as a noble boy, kindhearted and manly. Funeral discourse at the Brethren church by D. E. Brubaker.”
