DEATH CLAIMS AGED WOMAN
Mrs. Christopher Anderson of Huxley Passed Away Last Friday--Buried Monday.
At the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson, at Huxley, on Friday, March 30th, occurred the death of Mrs. Christopher Anderson. She had been critically ill with a flu-pneumonia trouble and death was not entirely unexpected. Funeral took place on Monday afternoon from the Fieldberg church, the services bein in charge or Rev. J. H. Lunde. The choir sang one song and Miss Erma Sydness rendered a solo, "Himlen's Port Staar Aaben." There were many floral tributes. Burial was made in the family lot in the Fieldberg cemetery.
Valjer Halversdatter Anderson was born at Kvinhered, Norway, September 19, 1846, and attained an age of 81 years, 6 months and 11 days. She came to America in 1866 and was untied in marriage to Christopher Johnson in July the same year. They settled on a farm near Clinton, Iowa. Later they moved onto a farm in Story county, where they resided about twenty-five years. They later moved to Huxley, where she continued to live till death claimed her on Friday. Her husband passed away in 1922.
Deceased was the mother of eight children, of whom two had preceded her in death. Those surviving her are Mrs. J. M. Hill, Andrew and George Anderson of Huxley, Mrs. Ole Scott of Belmond, Mrs. J. T. Eness and Mrs. Nels Jacobson of Gilbert. She is also mourned by a brother, John Opsanger, in Norway, eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Mrs. Anderson will be remembered as a kind, Christian woman, dearly beloved by neighbors and friends and all that came in contact with her. Blessed be her memory.
