DEATH REMOVES MRS. EVENSON

Young Wife Passed Away Saturday Morning After a Lengthy Illness. Remains Buried in Roland.

Rev. A. J. Evanson [sic] is mourning the death of his beloved wife who passed away last Saturday morning after a lengthy illness with tuberculosis. She had been ailing more or less for the past two years but had made a great fight against the dreaded disease and hopes were entertained at times for her recovery. Returning with her husband from Eureka, Kansas, a short time ago friends saw a perceptible change and her death on Saturday morning did not come as a surprise.

Funeral services were held from the Norwegian church Monday forenoon where Rev. Hansen spoke. Following the services the remains were taken to Roland, her old home, where the funeral services proper were held Tuesday afternoon, interment being made in the Roland cemetery, A large crowd of near relatives and friends attended the last sad rites.

Mrs. Nella Regine Evenson was born at Ihle, Illesvaag, Norway, August 27th, 1881, While only nine months old she emigrated with her parents to America. After a brief residence in Illinois they moved to Iowa where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Rev. A. J. Evenson July 28th, 1904. A short time after their marriage they settled down at Eureka, Kansas where the pastor had a charge. They remained in Kansas till a short time ago when they returned to Iowa. Aside from a faithful husband she is survived by parents, a brother and a host of friends.

Deceased was a most exemplary woman, held in the highest respect and esteem. She was of a quiet, unassuming nature and thoroughly in sympathy with the work of the one whom she had chosen as a life companion. She passed away a firm believer in the lowly Nazarene--the one who, she had learned to love in life.

We want to tank you all most earnestly and commend you to the care of Him who doeth all things well. May He bless and reward you all.
Mr. and Mrs. Peterson
Rev. A. J. Evenson
