MISS KATIE THOMPSON

Miss Katie Bernetta Thompson was born August 10, 1898, and died on February 26, 1929, attaining an age of 30 years, 6 months and 16 days. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. K. B. Thompson. The childhood years of her life were spent on the Thompson homestead southeast of Slater and she was educated in our schools. The family took up their residence in Slater in 1907 and since that time she had made Slater her home, till death claimed her on Tuesday evening, February 26th, after a brief illness with the flu. Complications developed affecting her heart.

She is survived by her father, K. B. Thompson; one sister, Nellie, and two brothers, Elmer of Des Moines and Mart of Slater, and two nieces, the Misses Blanche and Bernice Thompson of Des Moines, her fiance, Nels Kloster of Huxley. Also many other relatives and friends.

While a reserved woman, Miss Thompson had a part in many activities of the church, always ready to do her part and a little more, working willingly and cheerfully, whatever the task might be. The same thing was true of the home, where she was of wonderful help to her aging father, who is no bowed in grief over her sudden passing away. Her approaching marriage to Nels Kloster of near Huxley had been looked forward to and thought had made her happy, but it should not be thus, and he is left to mourn her untimely death.
