OBITUARY OF MRS. HARRY FATLAND
Jennie Omega Johnson-Fatland, daughter of Charles and Marie Johnson, was born near Pilot Mound, Boone county, Iowa, August 13, 1899. She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth, was educated in the Pilot Mound schools and attended the M. E. Sunday school at that place.
She was united in marriage to Harry J. Fatland on March 13, 1920. To this union was born one daughter, Marie. For a short time after their marriage they made their home at Huxley. Eight years ago they moved to Slater, where they since have lived, Mr. Fatland being the manager and chief operator of the Slater Mutual Telephone Co.
Deceased was a woman of a quiet disposition and reserved in her ways, and only those that knew her intimately were aware of her true worth. Her chief interest was her home and her family, though she took an active interest in not a few of the community's activities, being a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and other organizations.
Besides her husband and their daughter, Marie, she is mourned by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Johnson, of Pilot Mound, and three sisters and two brothers. They are: Mrs. L. V. Harpel of LaPorte, Minn., Mrs. L. E. Cartwright of Creston, Iowa, and Mrs. Guy C. Mather and Clifford and Voyle Johnson of Pilot Mound.
