Obituary

Gurney T. Bishop, son of Mark and Sarah [East] Bishop, died of pneumonia at their home one mile south of Gilbert, Story county. He was born February 14, 1903, died March 19, 1906. Dear little Gurney was left to brighten the home and lives of parents and friends just three years, one month and five days. We believe his little life accomplished its purpose and we shall be better because he lived.

"Our precious babe from us is gone,
His voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which only Christ can fill."

Little Gurney was laid by the side of an infant sister in the Stanhope cemetery.
