DEATHS
ANNA LANDE
Anna Martha Lande died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1970 at Story City Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Funeral services were held at the Stevens Memorial Chapel on Aug. 25th. Officiating was Rev. M. C. Hagedorn of the Story City Bethany Manor. Burial was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
She had been in failing health for some time. For the past year, she had resided at the Bethany Manor.
She was born May 3, 1886, in Bergen, Norway, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Malmanger. At the age of 18 years, she came to the United States and made her home in Des Moines.
On Jan. 12, 1911, she was married to Bentley Lande. To this union there were six children born.
They lived in Story County most of their married life.
Surviving are one son, Bayerd Lande of Ames; three daughters, Mrs. Leo (Selma) Scott, Ames, Mrs. Gene (Elsie) Carlson, Fort Dodge and Mrs. Jerry (Betty) Manning, Eagle Grove; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters of Bergen, Norway and a host of nephews and nieces.
Preceding her in death were her husband Bentley in 1962; two sons Lurence in 1964 and Archie in 1968; two sisters and one brother.
