BOWEN, GLEN A. (1885 – 1951)

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Thursday, October 23, 1951.
“GLEN A. BOWEN FUNERAL. – Glen A. Bowen, son of Jesse and Mary Ellen Will Bowen, was born at Maxwell, Iowa, June 1, 1885. Death came to Mr. Bowen on October 10, 1951 at 6:00 p.. m. at the Story County Hospital at Nevada, following an illness of several weeks. He attended the Maxwell schools. At an early age he left Maxwell for Salina, Kansas, where he was associated in busness with his uncle, L. A. Will. From Salina, he went to Chicago and was associated with A. G. Spaulding and Bros. as retail sales manager of the Chicago store. Mr. Bowen returned to Maxwell in 1929 and spent the remainder of his lefe in this vicinity. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Edna Bowen Keltz and Esther R. Bowen of Maxwell and Mrs. D. C. Elder of Marshalltownl Funeral services were held on Friday, October 12 at 3:00 p. m. at the Cooper-Moore Home. Mr. Henry T. Hackman had charge of the services with Rev. Oren B. Hall assisting. Mrs. Laura Pearson furnished the piano selections. Pall bearers were O. F. Stombeck, H. c. Larsen, Dale Joh, Edgar Hansen, Dan Peters and Wayne Sherman. Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Elder of Marshalltown, Mr. Robert Raugh, Boone, Mrs. Anna R. Bowen, Mrs. O. J. Anderson, and H. C. Hostetter, Ames; Mr. Richard Bowen, Mrs. Richard Dees, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Addison of Des Moines and Geo. Baldwin of Collins.” “CARD OF THANKS. – We wish to express our thanks to our friends for their many expressions of sympathy at the time of the death of our broter, Glen A. Bowen. Edna R. Keltz, Esther R. Bowen, Mrs. D. C. Elder.”
