DEATH OF E. A. POST.
Funeral Held This Afternoon From the Home.
The funeral of the late E. A. Post, a well known retired farmer of this city, is being held from the home on Court avenue this afternoon, Rev. Leitch having charge of the services. Interment will be in Nevada cemetery. All of the children with the exception of one daughter are home for the funeral. Mr. Post had been in the hospital at Clarinda since December 5, last. Death, which occurred at 3:00 p. m. August 9, was due to apoplexy, he having had several strokes previous to his death. The body arrived here Saturday night and was once taken to the home.
Obituary of E. A. Post.
E. A. Post, was born near Amboy, Lee county, Illinois, June 7, 1851, being the youngest of eleven children of James and Eliza Post. He grew to young manhood in that county and on Sept. 12, 1875, he was married to Eliza A. Morrill at Dixon, Ill. To this union eight children were born, all of whom, with the wife, are left to mourn the death of the husband and father. The children are Clarence, Claude, Maude, Nellie, Roy, George, Bess and Jennie.
The family continued to make their home in Illinois until 1882 when they moved to South Dakota, where they lived until 1888. Returning to Illinois they made their home at Dixon until the summer of 1902 when they came to Story county. Mr. Post acquired a farm and has lived near or in this city since with the exception of a year or so when he farmed up near Rolfe.
The deceased was a hard working and industrious man, always prosperous and honest and upright in all his dealings. A good friend and neighbor, he acquired a wide circle of friends. He was devoted to his family and will be deeply mourned by them.
Of the eleven children of whom he was the youngest, the only one now living is Mrs. L. T. Williams of near ----- City.
