Halterman Funeral Was Held Wednesday
Maxwell, Jan. 6--Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Belle Haltermen were held in the Church of Christ of Maxwell, Wednesday with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Nevada in charge. The songs "Old Rugged Cross," "Will there be any Stars in My Crown" and "Beautiful Isle" were sung by a mixed quartette composed of Mrs. C. I. Kirk, Mrs. J. B. Scott, A. Green and O. O. Holtby. Grandsons of Mrs. Haltermen were pall bearers. Burial was in the Maxwell cemetery.
Mary Belle Jones daughter of Robert and Nancy Jones, was born Jan. 3, 1858 near the town of Adelphi, Ia. She passed away on New Year's day while at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. Nancy Miller in Nevada. Three daughters preceded her in death, Nancy and Kassie in infancy, and Mrs. Ivy Oyler. Those remaining to mourn her loss are two sons, Joe of Maxwell, Willis of New Hampton, three daughters, Mrs. Clara Vasey of Collins, Mrs. Della Davis of Clarinda and Mrs. Minta Whitney of Radcliffe, three brothers and four sisters, Alvira Taylor, Calif., Clara Powers, Long Prairie, Minn., Florence Sperling, Maxwell, Ross Jones, Maxwell; Scott Jones, Adlephi, Minta Spencer, Grinnell, Eugene Jones, Des Moines also twenty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
