THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, August 23, 2005.

Andrew Joseph Swett, 21, Sheldahl died Sunday, Aug. 21, in rural Alleman of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater, with the Rev. Gary Loutzenhiser of Willow Creek Open Bible Church of Ames officiating.

Andrew Joseph Swett was born Sept. 13, 1983, in Phoenix, the son of Byron Swett and Sandra Rich. He was dedicated as a baby at First Assembly Church of Ames. He demonstrated a big heart for people at an early age. He worked with his father as a brick laborer.

He is survived by his father, Byron (Rosa) Swett of Slater; his mother, Sandra Rich of Illinois; one brother, Thomas of Illinois; three sisters, Angie, Sue and Barb of California; and two grandmothers, Barbara Rich of Phoenix and Edith Swett of Ames.

Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.
