Funeral Services Sat., December 1 For Jesse Christy

Jesse Carlton Christy, the son of Jesse M. and Alice Chrity, was born in Champagne County, Illinois, Oct. 16, 1895. He died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1962 in the Story County Hospital, Nevada, where he had been a patient for the past seven months.

With his parents, Christy came to town as a boy and attended the "Mission Ridge School" near Cambridge. He was untied in marriage with Elizabeth L. Scott, Des Moines, on Jan. 1, 1917 in the Asbury Methodist Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

The major part of their married life was spent engaged in farming in the Hickory Grove community near Nevada. In March, 1960 they retired to Nevada to their home at 1335 5th St.

Christy attended the Nevada Methodist Church, and was a member of the hickory Grove Community Club.

Christy was preceded in death by his wife, who died Sept. 8, 1961, an infant son, his parents, and one brother.

He is survived by his son, Keith, three grandchildren, Scott, Rhonda and Lynette, all of Nevada; three brothers, Art Christy, Maxwell, Freeman Christy, Nevada and Herbert Christy, Ames; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Alexander and Mrs. Stella Alexander, both of Nevada.

Services

Funeral services for Jesse Carlton Christy were held from Ryan's Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, Dec. 1 at 2 p. m. with the Rev. James Dendler, assisted by the Rev. Carey Christy, officiating.

Mrs. Irene Dobson provided the music for the service.

The casket bearers were: Clark Applegate, Clifford Applegate, Richard Christy, Rollo Christy, Norman Rosen and Ted Thorsen. The many floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Flossie Torry. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery
