TOMLINSON, ALONZO SAMUEL (1895-1985)

THE NEVADA JOURNAL, February 1985. “ALONZO SAMUEL TOMLINSON. – Alonzo Samuel Tomlinson, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 1985, at Story County Hospital in Nevada. He was born Feb. 21, 1895, at Collins, Ia., to Robert Henry Tomlinson and Rilla Jane Thatcher. He was a resident of Maxwell. He was married to Midlred Dunlap Sept. 15, 1915, in Farrar. Surivors include a son, Marvin Tomlinson of Maxwell; his wife Mildred; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Longnecker on Feb. 19, 1984. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Maxwell. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.”

Services for Alonzo Samuel "Lonnie" Tomlinson, 90, of Maxwell, who died of pneumonia Saturday at Story County Hospital in Nevada, will be at l0:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church here. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery. Mr. Tomlinson lived in Maxwell most of his life and he retired from farming in l960. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Maxwell. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; one son, Marvin of Maxwell; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends may visit from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell."
