K. J. Hill, Pioneer Roland Neighborhood To Be Buried Saturday

Roland, Oct. 13--Funeral services for K. J. Hill, 71, who died at his home northeast of Roland Wednesday at 12:30 p. m. will be held Saturday, with prayer at the home at 1:30 and the funeral proper at Salem Lutheran church at 2:00 with his pastor Rev. Olaf Holen in charge. Burial will be in the Roland cemetery.Mr. Hill was a native of Sonhardland, Norway, and came to America as a young man 19 years of age. He came directly to Roland and here he was married in 1892 to Miss Bertha Nelson. Their home has always been in the community, for many years upon the homestead they bought and improved northeast of here.
Twelve children were born to this union, nine of them with the wife surviving Mr. Hill. Three died in infancy. Surviving children are John, Arthur, Elmer and Mayme at home, Mrs. J. T. Molde of near Nevada, Mrs. John Johnson of Clarksville, Minn., Miss Berdella Hill of Chicago, Albert Hill of Dayton and Reuben Hill of near McCallsburg. He also leaves a brother J. J. Hill of Roland and sister Mrs. Cliff Olson of Marshalltown.
Mr. Hill had been a sufferer from hardening of the arteries of a year or more and for the past several months had failed rapidly and became helpless in the end.
