College Student Buried Today After Sudden Death

Special to the Journal:
Roland, Oct. 11--Palmer B. Lande, 19, freshman student at Iowa State college and son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos B. Lande of near this place, died at the college hospital at Ames Saturday afternoon of hemophilia.

Lande entered the hospital Oct. 7 for treatment for internal hemorrhages.

Born Oct. 19, 1919 on a farm near Huxley, Lande moved with his parents to a farm near Roland a few years ago. He enrolled at Iowa State this fall in industrial science following his graduation from Huxley high school last May, 1937. He attended Iowa State two quarters last year.

Funeral services were held at 1 p. m. today from the Duckworth Funeral home, Ames, and at 2 p. m., from the Bethany Lutheran church at Kelley, with the Rev. E. R. Rorem in charge. Burial will be in the Kelley cemetery.

Surviving him are his parents, three brothers, Ole, Stanley and Arnold, and five sisters, Beulah, Arline, Irene, Florence and Delores. Two brothers, Ole and Stanley are at Iowa State while Arnold is attending Waldorf college.
