Mrs. L. Staubitz Funeral Services Held In Illinois

Mrs. L. P. Staubitz, age 70 years, died at her home in McHenry, Ill. on Thursday, August 30th. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nick Hagen of Story City and a sister of Hildora Hagen of this place.

Sophie Christine Hagen, the daughter of Nick E. and Ella Hagen, was born on a farm south of Stanhope on March 28, 1892. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended Drake University, Des Moines and graduated from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Ill. in 1915.

On Nov. 29, 1917 she was united in marriage to Louis Pierce Staubitz, at her parents home by the Rev. Martin Norstad. Two children were born to this union, two daughters.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters: Mrs. Walter T. (Marie) Bartow of Naperville, Ill. and Mrs. Norman (Louise) Hall of McHenry, Ill.; four grandchildren, Elaine and Carolyn Bartow and Christin and Barbara Hall; three sisters, Mrs. Rosie Tysdal of Des Moines, Mrs. Goldie Ford of Stanhope and Miss Hildora Hagen of Story City. One sister preceded her in death on May 29, 1897 at the age of 12 years.

Funeral services for Mrs. Staubitz was held Saturday, September 1st in St. John's Episcopal Church of Naperville, Ill. Interment was made in the Naperville cemetery.

Attending the funeral services for Mrs. Staubitz on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Tysdal of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Gen Reichett and son, David of Altoona and Miss Hildora Hagen of Story City.
