DEATHS

EFFIE WHITAKER

Effie Whitaker, 85, died Wednesday, May 18, 1983 at the Oak Park Care Center in Nevada. She was a former resident of Maxwell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell. Rev. Eldon Ringle will officiate. Burial will be at the Collins Evergreen Cemetery.

Whitaker was born on Sept. 30, 1897 to John W. and Minnie (Belcher) Bloomfield in Story County. She married Frank Pinck on Feb. 17, 1915. Frank Pinck died in 1922. She then married Claude Whitaker on Dec. 2, 1925 in Maxwell.

She is survived by her husband, Claude; one daughter, Ruth Graham of Maxwell; one grandchild, Patty Graham of Maxwell; two sisters, Vivian Angle of Maxwell and Eva Beal of Nevada.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Earl, who died in 1963.

Visitation will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the Cooper Funeral Home.
