Fred Kruse of Colo Dies in Hospital in M'town Thursday

Fred S. Kruse, 82, Colo, died Thursday afternoon at 5:30 in the Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown. He had been ill for a long time and hospitalized for an extended period.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown. The Rev. Claire Shupe, Nevada, will officiate. Burial will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.

He was born June 19, 1884 in Newton, the son of Henry and Amelia Kruse. He was married to Maude Nason January 10, 1912 at Melbourne. His wife died in May of 1939 and the following year he was married to Bessie Moore. His second wife preceded him in death in March of 1962.

Kruse was raised and educated in Baxter. He was a farmer all his life.

Survivors include his three children: Erwin N. Marshalltown, Mrs. Forest Jackson of State Center and Mrs. Ralph Charlton of Marshalltown; eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Etta Schorman of Melbourne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a half-brother and two grandsons.
