NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, August 18, 2005.

Mark Edward Sowers, 74, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died at his home Wednesday, August 10, 2005.

Mr. Sowers was born May 10, 1931 in Nevada, Iowa to Philip Allen Sowers and Harriett Louise McCall Sowers. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Donna Jean Hitchings Sowers, daughters- Marcy Lynn Wheelock, Zearing, Ia. and Rhonda Lee Betten, Land O' Lakes, Fl.

Sons- Michael Alan Sowers, Lutz, Fl. and Joseph Randal Sowers, Tampa, Fl. Brother Joseph McCall Sowers, Roy, Utah and two grandchildren.

Mr. Sowers was a graduate of Ames High School. He served his country proudly for 24 years in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

The remains were cremated and a private family remembrance will be held in Iowa at a future date.
