Last Rites For Herman Corbin Held Saturday
Funeral services for Herman A. Corbin, 73, of Fernald were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating.
Mrs. Harry Sutherland sang three songs, "Beautiful Isle", "In the Sweet By and By" and "Rock of Ages" accompanied by Mrs. Leonard Franz at the organ.
The casket bearers were Ray Chitty, Roger Griffith, William Neal, Mac McNatton, James Sowers and Walter Smay.
Burial was in the Murphy cemetery.
The deceased was born Nov. 25, 1886 at Hastings, Neb. and died at his home Wednesday, July 6, 1960.
He was married to Kittie Daugherty July 14, 1908, at Unionville, Mo.
Surviving are the wife, Kittie, and eight daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Lena Smith, Colo; Mrs. Hazel Pauley and Mrs. Amber Drahos of Nevada; Mrs. Lucy Sodders, Fernald; Mrs. Twylia Bailey of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Mavis Dull of Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. Doris Whipple of Hampton; Mrs. Rosalee Hughes of Newton. The sons are: Trulin Corbin of Davenport; Ralph Corbin and Alfred Corbin, Jr. of Fernald.
He also leaves 45 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
