DEATHS

Lewis L. Larson

Funeral services for Lewis L. Larson were held on Saturday, April 13, 1974 at 2 p.m. at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church with Pastor Marvin E. Nygaard officiating.

Organist was Mrs. Jacob Lee. She accompanied Arlin Severson when he sang 'O Take My Hand,' 'Dear Father,' and 'My Life is Hid in Jesus.'

Pallbearers were Paul Larson, James Larson, David Erickson, Steven Roberts, Norman Magg, Timothy Roberts. Interment was in Palestine Cemetery.

Lewis L. Larson, son of Lars O. and Randy Larson, was born January 6, 1885, on the Larson farm in the Huxley community. He was baptized and confirmed in Palestine Lutheran Church. On June 25, 1913, he was united in marriage to Isabel Dobbe at the Dobbe home in Huxley. Lewis and Isabel settled on the adjoining farm to the Larson homestead where they lived until they retired to Huxley in 1948.

Two sons and four daughters were born to this union Inez (Mrs. LeRoy Estrem), Huxley, Dr. Robert of Kalamazoo, Mich., Dorothy (Mrs. Marvin . Johnson), Marshalltown, Kathryn (Mrs. Russell Moore) of Coldwater, Mich., Edward of Huxley and Lucille (Mrs. Robert Erickson), Des Moines.

The family was active in their church and Mr. Larson served as a trustee. He also was a member of Huxley School Board for several years.

Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Isabel on November 1971. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Larson, four brothers Osmond, Oscar, Andrew and Henry and three sisters, Julia, Anna and Mary.

He is survived by a sister, Carrie Larson, of Des Moines. Other survivors besides the six children are seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
