Rites for Russell Adams Held June 23 At Zearing Church

Funeral services for James Russell Adams were held June 23, 1960 in the Zearing Christian Church, with the American Legion Post 116 of Zearing in charge. Rev. Dean Wolfe officiated.

Casket bearers were James Roche, Guy Catterouck, Harry Britten, Ray Hawk, Dale Johnston, and Duane Reed. Mrs. Lucile Dakins was at the organ. Mrs. Eloise Sterling and Mrs. Herman Beach cared for the floral offerings.

Obituary

Mr. James Russell Adams was born December 16, 1898 on a farm east of Zearing and passed away on June 20, 1960. He was the son of Edward and Mary Adams.

On July the 4th, 1921 he was united in marriage to Anna Billings at McCallsburg. The couple spent their entire married life in and around the Zearing community.

Surviving are the widow, Anna, and two children, Mrs. Bill Tjarks (Lorraine) of Liscomb and Billy Adams of San Pedro, California. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Ruth Steelman and many friends and relatives.

He was a veteran of World War I and a long time member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Horatio and Theran and one sister Nellie.
