Last Rites For Keesee Samson, Jr. Held On Thursday
Funeral services for Keesee Samson, Jr. were held from the Ryan Funeral Home, Thursday, June 9, at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. W. R. Tuttle officiating.
Mrs. Harry Sutherland sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Home", accompanied by Virginia Bierschwal at the organ.
The floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. Lee Cook and Mrs. Nick Kruse.
The casket bearers were Eugene Cook, Dale Groomes, George Hartman, Lloyd Kline, Robert Nelson and LaVern Rullestad.
Military services were conducted at the graveside by the local V.F.W. of Nevada.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Obituary
Keesee Fred Junior, was born Sept. 9, 1921 to Keesee, Sr. and his wife Irene Samson, and died June 2, 1960 at Los Angeles, Calif. in the General Hospital. He was 38 years, 8 months and 24 days of age.
In the earlier days of his life, Keesee attended the North Grant School, after which, he and his parents moved to the Shipley Community. He graduated with the class of 1939. All through his school years and later, he helped his father with the dairy milk route.
At about sixteen years of age Keesee made his confession of faith and united with the First Christian Church of Nevada.
He enlisted in the U. D. Marine Corps at Des Moines, Iowa, the 10th day of February, 1941 and served six years, being discharged the 31st day of March, 1947.
On March 30, 1943, Keesee and Doris Marie Van Sickle were united in marriage in Reno, Nev. To this union four sons were born.
In his passing, he is survived by his widow and sons, Paul, Van, Roger and Allen. His father and mother, Keesee and Irene Samson and three brothers, Willard, Jerry of Nevada, Russell of Indianola and Larry, who is now serving with the 505th Airborne Division in Germany, also survive.
