Hold Final Rites For John Zatechka, 42

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church in Marshalltown for John Zatechka, 42, 202 North 19th street in Marshalltown, who died Monday evening at the St. Thomas Mercy hospital, where he had been taken early Sunday. He had been in failing health the past four years.

He was born Feb. 17, 1907, on a farm near Dillon, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Zatechka. He grew to manhood in the community and attended the Ferguson schools, from which he graduated. Later he attended the Central Iowa Business college.

On June 4, 1932, he was united in marriage to Pauline Glann, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. A. G. Glann of Colo. they have lived continuously in Marshalltown since their marriage.

Mr. Zatechka was a member of the Marshalltown fire department for 10 years, retiring due to ill health and for the past two and one-half years he has been employed in the clerical department of the Marshalltown Manufacturing company.

The services were in charge of the Rev. Msgr. A. P. Meyer. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery. The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the Estel Funeral home.
