CAMBRIDGE PIONEER DEAD.
Sam Woods, Business Man, Died Sunday Morning.

Cambridge, Jan. 19.--Pioneer resident passes away at his home in Cambridge Sunday morning after along and painful illness. Sam Woods has been identified with the business life of Cambridge for a number of yeas until the past four years when he was stricken by failing health much of the time, being confined to his home and bed especially the last year, has been a helpless invalid during which time he was carefully ministered to by a devoted wife and loving children, two daughters, Mrs. Ray McKee of Burlington, Annie at home, three sons, John, Harold and Fred. Besides his wife and children he leaves five brothers, L. D. and A. W., business men in Cambridge, Grant and Will, farmers living at White Oak, Eldridge in Ft. Smith, Ark., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burns and Mrs. W. E. Pooler. Mr. Woods was born and lived the greater part of his live in the White Oak community, having operated a general store there when that place was known as Tyner. Later he moved to Clear Lake, S. D., where he lived on a farm a couple of years, then engaged in business in Clear Lake city. He then came to Cambridge where the family has lived the past eleven years. A kindly, honest character won for him the respect of his associates in both business and social life. Funeral services were held at two p. m. Wednesday, from the U. B. church, Rev. Peter Jacobs in charge. Business houses were closed during the time of funeral services after which the remains were borne to the White Oak cemetery for burial. Six of the business men acted as pallbearers, H. A. Early, C. J. Thomas, J. A. McKee, Geo. Zook, C. M. Webb and F. W. Larson.
