OBITUARY OF MRS. EDDY
Had Lived In County for Over Half Century.
Mrs. A. P. Eddy of Sherman township who died at the family home in Sherman township July 20, 1923 was born Sarah Amanda Mark, in Kane county, Illinois, February 4, 1844 making her 79 years, 5 month and 16 days at the time of her death.
The funeral services were held at the Johnson Grove Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after which the body was interred in the nearby cemetery by the side of her husband, Alfred Eddy who died some years before.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Eddy at Aurora, Ill., October 31, 1863, six children being born to them. Of these, one son died after reaching young manhood and an infant daughter, preceded the parents in death.
Four sons, Frank S. Eddy of Rhodes, Orlando of Iowa Falls and Will and Dwight who lived at the old homestead, are left to mourn the death of the parents.
She was converted during the early days of her married life and died a firm believer in the faith in Christianity.
Mr. and Mrs. Eddy came out to Iowa 56 years ago and for over 46 years had lived upon the old homestead, where both of them died and where two of the sons are still making their home.
