WITH THE NEW LIFE THERE CAME DEATH
McCALLSBURG WIFE AND MOTHER PASSED SUDDENLY FOLLOWING CHILD'S BIRTH.

McCallsburg, May 23--A cloud of gloom was cast over this community Thursday then it was learned that Mrs. Martin Hauskin had passed to the Great Beyond on Wednesday evening at 9:15.Mrs. Hauskin have birth to a baby girl two weeks ago and at first was getting along as well as could be expected, but on Friday became worse, and while everything was done for he that could be done, all was in vain. It was a complicated case. She remained unconscious the last two hours before she passed away.
The deceased is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olis [should be Olaus] Helland living west of town and was born and raised near here, having lived here all her days except one year when they lived in Buffalo Center. She was born Nov. 14, 1890, and died at the age of 33 years and 5 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to Martin Hauskin September 2, 1912. To this union four children were born, all who are living, they being Lillian, 10 yrs., Marine, 7 yrs. and Darline 2 yrs. and the infant, Jeneva Floris, two weeks old. She leaves to mourn her death besides her husband and children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Olis [should be Olaus] Helland, and five sisters and four brothers. They are Mrs. Sadie Sampson of near Colo, Mrs. Bertha Sturn [should be Strum] and Mrs. Lovina Johnson, and Blanch and Minerva, Oscar, John, Clarence and Otis all of this place, and many other relatives and friends.
The deceased was a loving mother and a home maker. She was a quiet, good woman and she will be missed by her family as well as by her neighbors.
The people of this community offer their sympathy to the bereaved.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the house and at 1:30 in the Lutheran church, of which she was a member. Rev. T. H. Benson officiating.
