OBITUARIES

John W. Guge

John William Guge, 82, of Rosehaven Nursing Home, Marengo, and formerly of Belle Plaine, died Friday, March 10, 1989.

Gurge was born April 6, 1906 at Nevada, IA, the son of Nathan and Martha Jones Guge. He married Emma T. Tehan on Nov. 27, 1928. She died Oct. 23, 1975. He was a painter and had worked for the Chicago and North Western Railroad.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry, Cedar Rapids, David, Rowley; one sister, Phylis Bork, Ogden, and four grandchildren.

In addition to his wife an parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Louks, Mona Fuller, Viola Haynes, Frances Anderson and three brothers, Eldon, Levi and Guy Guge.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, was in charge of arrangements.
