John Peterson, Roland Carpenter, Dies at County Home

John Peterson (Shea), 83, longtime resident of the Roland community, died last night at the Story county home, after having been in declining health for some time. He had been an inmate of the home for over three years, according to the records of Stewart [sic] Earl McCord.

Peterson, who had lived in Roland for probably 50 years or more, was never married and had worked as a carpenter during the years of his more active life.

Funeral arrangements had not been perfected at this time but it is very probable that the body will be taken to Roland for the funeral and burial service.
