DEATHS

Sanford B. Lande

At the Riis Funeral Home in Slater funeral services for Sanford B. Lande of Ames, a former Slater resident, were held on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. W. A. Adix brought the message. Organ selections were played by Mrs. Alvin Lund.

Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemeterty where military rites were in charge of Slater American Legion Post. Other post members acted as pallbearers.

Sanford B. Lande was born Oct. 7, 1893 at Slater and received his education in the Slater school.

He died Aug. 18 at Mary Greeley Hospital.

He served with the armed forces of W.W. I and was a charter member of Slater Legion Post 260.

Survivors include his wife, Ella K.; a sister, Alma Lande; a brother, R. C. Lande, Des Moines; a niece, Mrs. G. L. Heggen of Des Moines and two nephews, Jim Lande of Sumner and John Lande of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Lande, and a sister, Marie.
