DEATH OF THOMAS RAVLIN.
Funeral of Aged Father of Mrs. H. M. Norton Held Tuesday.

Zearing, May 15.--Thomas G. Ravlin was born in Chautauqua county, N. Y., March 18, 1834. He was married to Miss Delia Hinds May 18, 1858. When a young man he united with the Baptist church in Kainville, Ill. He came to Iowa and settled five miles northeast of LaPorte City in 1875. Five years ago he came from Marshalltown where he was then living, and took up his residence with his daughter, Mrs. H. M. Norton. During the past ten weeks he had been confined to his bed entirely, He departed this life on Sunday night, May 10, 1908, aged 74 years, 1 month and 22 days. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, two sons and one daughter, Lee, Morris and Mrs. A. H. Norton; also two brothers and one sister, John at Kainville, Ill., Clark of LaPorte City and Mrs. Bateman, of Waterloo.The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church. Rev. B. W. Salmon having charge of the services. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery here.
