OBITUARY
E. T. CAMPBELL
Elijah T. Campbell, long a familiarly know resident of Nevada and much respected for his worthy character and goo intentions, died Thursday forenoon, January 13, 1916 at the home in this city of Oscar Johnson, where for the past few months he has been living. Mr. Campbell was born in October, 1934, in Seneca county, New York, and he was accordingly aged at the time of his death approximately 81 years and 3 months. He came to Iowa in or about 1868 and settled on what is known as the C. M. Minkler farm in Milford township. Later he moved onto a farm in Grant township southwest of Nevada, and for the past twenty or twenty-five years he ahs lived in Nevada, excepting for a comparatively short period when he was down at Indianola. In his residence here he had been variously but industriously occupied until his advancing age gradually put a stop to his activities. His death finally came from general infirmities. He was three time married; but he had no children and died a widower, with few, if any, near relatives. His funeral is conducted this afternoon from the Christian church by Rev. Henry, and his interment will be with Masonic rites in the cemetery.
