ROBERT KITCHEN
Collins Liberator, Apr 27, 1899

Robert Kitchen, the step-father of W.W. Fish and Frank Fish, gave up his lease of life at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. He would have been 73 years old had he lived until June 20. he visited with Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Mead Sunday afternoon and evening, was taken sick there and died. He has been at all times a good citizen of this community, and has ever lived an honorable, upright, God-fearing life. If there were more men of his stamp in the world it would be better off. He was born in England, emigrated to Canada and had lived at Rhodes since 1880. He leaves three sons and two daughters to mourn his death. Funeral services are to be held at the M.E. church in Rhodes at 3:30 this afternoon, and his remains will be taken to Reed City, Mich., for burial. W.W. Fish will accompany them. Mr. Kitchen served three years in the war of the rebellion and was a member of the G.A.R. post at Rhodes when the order received at that place.
