OBITUARY
The people of Colo and vicinity were greatly shocked and sorely grieved by the death of Mrs. D. A. Cannon which occurred at Mercy hospital in Iowa City Wednesday after, June 6, 1917. Death was due to intestinal paralysis and peritonitis following a minor operation which she underwent the preceeding Thursday. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary church at Colo, Saturday at 10 o'clock and interment made in St. Jams cemetery. The family are expected to arrive with the remains Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Cannon and their family have lived in this vicinity many years and have a large circle of friends who are deeply grieved by the death of Mrs. Cannon and sincerely sympathize with the family in their bereavement. She was a woman of noble Christian character, a faithful devoted wife and mother, a true friend and kind neighbor. She will be greatly missed not only by her family but by a host of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Cannon retired from the farm last spring and moved to Iowa City. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, D. A. Cannon and seven grown children, Fred, wife and baby and Dan of Huntley, Minn., Kathryn, Margaret, John, Helen and Albert at home.
