Obituary
Mrs. Ed. Quam died at her home in Roland, Friday, April 20, after a lingering illness over a year. She was born near Roland on June 24, 1871, and had lived here all of her life. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jondal were among the early settler of this township. Carrie Jondal was united in marriage to Ed. Quam on Feb. 20, 1889. To them were born eleven children three having preceeded the mother to the other shore. The eight living are: Jessie, Homer, Amos, Elmira, Herbert, Ruby, Cora and Fern. It can be truly said that Mrs. Quam was one of the good and true women devoted to the care of her family and was loved and adored by her husband, children and friends. Possessed of a nature of a kind and charitable disposition, she ruled her household with that christian spirit that endeared her to those in her care and keeping. Besides her husband and children she leaves four brothers and three sisters, Henry of Minneapolis; Sam, Oscar and Ed. of Roland; Mrs. C. O. Christian of Frost, Min.; Mrs. John Christian and Mrs. Jonas Duea of Roland. The funeral was largely attended Monday at Salem's church, conducted by Rev. Sandven, her pastor.
