Mrs. Henry Myers

Harriet Jane Woodford was born near Caldwell, Noble county, Ohio, Oct. 28, 1867 and died at her home seven miles northeast of Colo, Jan. 24, 1917 aged 49 years, 2 months and 27 days. She came to Iowa with her parents in Oct. 1874 where she grew to womanhood. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Linn Grove, Warren county when quite young and in recent years transferred her membership to the Johnson's Grove church northwest of Colo. She was united in marriage to Mr. Henry Myers in April 1889. Three children were born to them all of whom were with her during her last illness. Mrs. Myers had been in poor health for several weeks before her death she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never rallied. Mrs. Myers was a faithful, loving wife and mother, a good neighbor and a true friend. She possessed a kind and loving disposition and will be greatly missed not only in her home but in the entire community. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, three children--Emmet (who with his wife and two children live at the parental home); Mrs. Bertha (Arlie) Myers [should be Meyers] of Blue Earth, Minn., and Harry still at home, five grandchildren, five brothers, Frank Woodford of Des Moines, Manson Woodford of Norwalk, Harry Woodford of Ayershire, Andrew Woodford of Ft. Dodge, Isaac Woodford of Webb, one sister, Mrs. Essick of Webb besides numerous other relative and host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon. A brief service was conducted at the home by Rev. J. M. Bamford of Zearing. Rev. W. C. McKinley conducted the services in the M. E. church at Colo.

The brothers and one brother-in-law acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in the Colo Cemetery. Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Myers of Blue Earth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woodford of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Manson Woodford of Norwalk, Harry Woodford of Ayershire, Andrew Woodford of Ft. Dodge, Isaac Woodford of Webb, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Allen of Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Myers of Ames. The entire community extend heart felt sympathy to the sorrowing ones.

The relatives thank their friends for the many kindnesses shown them in their bereavement.
