Former Radcliffe Man Is Dead

Radcliffe, Jan. 3--Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon for the late Frank Drake, who died at his home in Minneapolis, Minn., Tuesday, December 26. Mr. Drake suffered a stroke Christmas eve and was removed to a hospital where he passed away.Frank Drake was born March 17, 1864, at Mount Vernon, Ohio. He received his education in that state and came to Radcliffe as a young man. He was married to Sarah Jones and the couple made their home in Radcliffe and Iowa Falls, until Mrs. Drake's death 6 years ago. While in Radcliffe, Mr. Drake was postmaster for sixteen years, and at Iowa Falls was manager of the Arling hotel. For the past several years he was employed in Minneapolis.
His wife and two daughters, Margaret and Fern, preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons, Roy of Hollywood, Calif., Glenn of Chicago, Ill., and Harold of Iowa Falls. Also one sister Mrs. Margaret Vroman of Radcliffe, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Rev. C. L. Liming preached the funeral service and burial was made in the Radcliffe cemetery.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral of the late Mr. Drake were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Drake and John Bittner, Jr., of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Drake, Albert Bietsch, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Bullock, Walter and Henry Houck and Joe Santee all of Iowa Falls, Paul Friest of Jewell, Mrs. Grace Finch and daughters of Fort Dodge.
