NEVADA – Maud Burgess Kitchen, 91, died of complications of diabetes June 25, 1995, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with the Rev. Forrest E. Chaffee officiating. Burial is at Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.

Mrs. Kitchen was born April 18, 1904, at Maxwell, the daughter of Daniel E. and Phoebe R. (Snook) Burgess. On Nov. 1, 1924, she married Harvey Kitchen in Nevada. She was a life-long resident of Story County. Before retirement in 1966 she was employeed at Story County Hospital in the housekeeping department.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Leona Kitchen of Nevada, Marjorie Henry of Boone and Ellen Kitchen of Ames; one son, Harry Kitchen of Nevada; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

A memorial has been established.
