State Center Man Dies Suddenly at Early Hour Today

State Center, July 19--Martin Van Wilkerson, a resident of State Center the past 20 years, died at his home here at 6:15 Wednesday morning. He had been in poor health for several years, but was bedfast only since last Saturday.

Mr. Wilkrson was born in southern Illinois, April 9, 1864, an was married there to Miss Sallie Henry, Nov. 14, 1891. They came to Marshall county about 1900 and farmed near State Center until their removal to town.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilkerson were the parents of two children, Mrs. P. J. Adams of State Center, and Hugh Wilkerson, who died in 1921.

Besides his widow and daughter, Mr. Wilkerson is survived by two granddaughters, Mrs. Donald Homer of State Center, and Miss Hughleen Wilkerson of Reinbeck, one grandson, Robert Adams of State Center, and one great granddaughter, Kay Jean Homer, also of State Center.

The body was taken to the Wensel funeral home here, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery.
