A. Thorsbakken Died Last Night at Story City
Story City, June 13 -- Anders Thorsbakken, 65, retired farmer died at the hospital of the Story City Old People's home here Monday at 10:30 p. m. after an illness of about two weeks. He had been in the hospital during this period and had suffered a number of strokes.
Born in Norway, Europe, he came to America about 30 years ago. Much of this time had been spent on farms, first near Stanhope and later near Story City.
His wife died some time ago, but he leaves sons Marius and Thomas Enderson*, Mrs. Joseph Olson and Mrs. Thomas Docks [should be Dicks], all of near Stanhope.
He also leaves three brothers. One is in Norway while Ole lives at Story City and Marius at Osceola.
Funeral rites will be Thursday afternoon, with prayer at th chapel of the Sunset Home at 1:30 and the funeral service at Immanuel Lutheran church, with Rev. T. t. Heimarck in charge at 2:00.
Burial will be by the side of his wife in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery west of Story City.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: It appears the two sons, Marius and Thomas used the patronymic last name (Anderson or Enderson as in son of Anders) and the two daughters used the their father's last name (Thorsbakken.)
