Former Zearing Merchant Died at Marshalltown
Special to the Journal:
Zearing, June 6--INS--The body of C. H. Coffelt, 76, who died very suddenly of heart trouble at his home in Marshalltown Sunday, will be brought to Zearing and interred in the Williams lot in the local cemetery Wednesday afternoon.Mr. Coffeclt, whose second wife was Susie Williams of Zearing who died in 1936, has lived in northwest Marshall county or in Zearing for many years, but of more recent years had lived in Marshalltown.
He was a native of Elkhart, Ind., came to Iowa in about 1888 and first located at Bromley, now a "ghost town" in northwestern Marshall county where he was engaged in the mercantile business. Later he operated a store in Zearing and it was here that he married Susie Williams in 1901.
