Tragic Death of Mrs. Bosworth at NHS Field House

The community was shocked on Tuesday evening by the tragic death of Mrs. Harriett Hale-Boswroth, 74, mother of Mrs. Homer Jacobs, of 529 Eighth street, Nevada, who collapsed and passed away during a heart attack, suffered while attending the Physical Education Demonstration at the high school field house.

Mrs. Bosworth who has recently returned from a visit in California and had resumed her home with her daughter Mrs. Jacobs and family in Nevada, had been in her usual health and had gone over to the field house alone.

Seated on one of the front seats, she suddenly expressed her discomforture, then collapsed and was carried from the field house to the corridor, where she died about the time her daughter and husband and a physician arrived.

There will be brief funeral services held at the Jacobs home Wednesday morning at 9:00, after which the body will be accompanied to the old family home at Moville, where the funeral will be held at 3:00 at the Methodist Episcopal church followed by burial in the Moville cemetery.

Harritt Hale was born in Lucas county October 4, 1864 and had lived in Iowa all of her life. She was married to George F. Bosworth and they spent much of their married life at Moville, where the husband died March 4, 1923.

She continued her home at Moville until about ten years ago, when she came to Nevada to make her home with the family of her daughter who had arrived here a few months before.

She leaves three daughters and one son, they being Mrs. Vera Jacobs of Nevada, Mrs. Perle Ridnour of Rockford, Illinois, Mrs. Ollie Richards of Los Angeles and Frank Bosworth of Moville, Ia.

Mrs. Bosworth was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in which she had been active at Moville and other places of her residence. During the time she had spent in Nevada she had been faithful in her attendance at the same church, of which her daughter is an active member.
