Mrs. John Holcomb Buried at Zearing This Afternoon

Zearing, April 21--Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church here this afternoon for Mrs. John Holcomb, age about 90 years who died Wednesday at an Old Peoples Home at Cedar Ralls. Burial was in the Zearing cemetery who died a number of years ago.

Born in New York state, she came out to Iowa as a girl and taught in the school at Illinois Grove northeast of Zearing and later was married to John Holcomb son of pioneer family. The most of their lives was spent on a nearby farm until they retired and moved into Zearing.

White no children were born to this estimable couple, they raised on foster son, Claude Holcomb and later had in their home for many years a granddaughter, who is now Mrs. Bera Lynch of Cedar Rapids. They are also survived by a grandson Raymond Holcomb of Marshalltown.

Her interests were long in the Illinois Grove neighborhood and there she was active in church and similar affairs.
