Wilson Funeral at Colo Tuesday

Colo, June 8--The funeral of Harry Ross Wilson, 44, Colo man who died so suddenly at Tama, Sunday, was held at the Methodist church here Tuesday afternoon, after which the body was laid to rest in the local cemetery.

Wilson was well-known in and around Colo where he had lived for many years, and his funeral service was largely attended.

Harry Ross Wilson, son of Cassius C. and Mary Wilson was born in Somer township, Champaign county, Illinois, October 24, 1883 and died at Tama, Iowa, June 3, 1928, aged 44 years, 6 months and 9 days.

At the age of ten he moved to Iowa with his parents. Here he lived and was married to Mary A. McCoy on February 10th, 1909. To this union were born, Alice Mary who died in infancy, Helen, Harriet, Hazel and James who with their mother survive him. He leaves besides his immediate family, his mother, Mrs. Mary Wilson and one brother, Frank R., both of this place.

With the exception of four years immediately following his marriage his home has been in Colo.

He was captain of the 212th Wagontrain, Quartermasters department of the Reserve Officers Corps and a member of the Boone County Reserve Officers association.

He was a member of Lodge No. 25, Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and was always ready to give his services for the good of his Brotherhood, from which his pall bearers are chosen. He was a naturally cheerful disposition and made friends among the railroad men with whom he came in contact in the past eleven years. "Harry" as they all knew him had been ill since last September and had thoroughly enjoyed the many calls of his Brotherhood associates. He had recently returned to his work and his untimely passing came as a great shock to his family and friends.
