DEATHS
Mrs. Ellen Imsland
Funeral services for Mrs. B. A. Imsland were held in St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20 with Pastor Rhuben O. Aga officiating, assisted by Pastor Perry Heller. Mrs. Joel Jacobson organist accompanied Mrs. Lois Egenes, soloist who sang "O Lord Most Holy." The congregation sang "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "O For a Faith that will not Shrink."
Mrs. Ellen Marie Imsland was born in Imsland, Norway on March 29, 1889 and came to the United States in 1907. She lived in Minneapolis, Minn., Irwin and Fort Dodge, Ia. She married Berger A. Imsland in 1925. The couple farmed at McCallsburg until five years ago when they retired and moved to Story City. She passed away Friday evening, Jan. 17, at the Story City Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Nov. 22.
Burial was at McCallsburg in the Warren township cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Erickson, Cecil Henderson, Jeff Torgerson, Chester Pearson, Curtis Henderson and Arnold Jacobson. Honorary pallbearers were Merrill Axland, Torjus Aksland, Cyrus Imsland, Clifford Axland, Torvald Aksland and Cliff Imsland.
She is survived by her husband, Berger; three sons, Eugene B. Imsland of Snohomish, Wash., Donald O. Imsland, Minneapolis, Minn. and Theodore S. Imsland of Marshalltown; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ruth Fasold of Des Moines and Bernice Imsland of Waterloo; a stepson, Irvin T. Imsland of Marshalltown; ten grandchildren and a sister, Bertha Haaland of Stavanger, Norway.
Several brothers and sisters have preceded her in death.
