Funeral Services Held Monday for Archie Ward Stone
Maxwell, June 13 -- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Archie Ward Stone in the Cooper Funeral home and the Christian church at Maxwell. Burial was made in the Zearing cemetery.
Archie Ward Stone, son of George W. and Ida Stone was born September 14, 1877 at Jackson, Wisconsin. He came to Iowa with his parents when he was a small child and spent his boyhood in and around Boone, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Jessie E. McFadden of Boone in 1902. There were five children born of this union.
He became a member of the Christian church of Maxwell in 1927. He worked at the blacksmith trade until six month ago when his health began to fail. For the last two months he has been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Orville Hagen of Roland, where he passed away, Thursday morning at 7:30 A. M. from heart trouble. He leaves to mourn his death four children--two daughters and two sons--Meinard (Mrs. Orville Hagen), Bernadine (Mrs. Sanford Olson), Derryl Stone and Clayton Stone, all of Roland. He also leaves ten grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters. His wife Jessie and his small daughter preceded him in death.
