Funeral Services Held for Former Colo Resident
Colo, April 15 -- Funeral services for Albert (Bert) Cory of Marshalltown who died in St. Thomas Mercy hospital at 10 o'clock Friday evening where he had been a patient for four weeks were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Trinity Lutheran church with burial by the side of his parents in the Colo cemetery.
Albert McGilchrist Cory was born near Colo August 18, 1877. His parents were Reason J. and Mary Gilchrist Cory, longtime residents of Story county. He attended the public schools of Story county and then engaged in farming with his father for many years. He was married to Clara Evenson at Roland June 3, 1908. They lived on the Cory Homestead southeast of Colo for several years but moved to Marshalltown in the spring of 1912 and continued to live there with the exception of two years at Woodward. They have lived in their present home in Marshalltown the past 20 years.
He was employed by the Cooper Manufacturing Co. for eleven years also Marshall Canning Co. and the last six years an employee of the Western Grocery Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Frank. He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Tensley [should be Teasley], Glasco, Kan.
