Funeral Services For Bertram Hegland Held Tuesday
Roland, March 7--Funeral services for the late Bertram Hegland were held at Bergen church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock preceded by a prayer service at the Clarence Helland home at 1:30. The Rev. Allen Nelson was in charge and burial was made in the Roland cemetery. Before the sermon Donald Boyd sang "Under His Wing" and immediately following, O. S. Boyd and Donald Boyd sang "Some Day, Sometime Will Understand." Mrs. A. R. Erickson and Sylvia Thompson had charge of the flowers and the pall bearers were Bennett Hegland, Lyle and Arthur Espeland, Palmer Tisdale, Lars Martens and Reuben Erickson.
Bertram Joseph Hegland, son of the late Iver and Clara Hegland was born on the Hegland homestead two mile east of Roland on August 17, 1904. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen's Lutheran church and attended the Roland schools. He has always lived in the community an was employed at Hegland Produce company and was night watchman a the time of his death. He was taken critically ill on Tuesday evening and on Thursday night suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and passed away Friday afternoon at 12:15 at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Carrie Highland. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Clarence Helland, a nephew and a niece, Eugene and Lois Helland. His parents and brother, Orven, preceded him in death.

Helland, Mrs. Sadie Sampson, Mrs. Chester Pearson and Mrs. Harold Hanson of McCallsburg, Mrs. Mary Iverson of Belle Plaine, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Irish and Mr. and Mrs. Knute Stensland of Nevada and Mr. and Mrs. Overt Olson of Alden and Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Hanson of Jewell.
