CLYDE V. TOMS
Funeral services will be held at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Pastors Carl F. Shattauer and O.M. Severseike officiating for Clyde Toms, who died Saturday at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. He was 66.
Born in Nevada July 18, 1907, he was the son of Marston and Emma Toms, and had been a life time resident of Story County. He had farmed near Ames for the past 31 years. He was a past president of the North Grant school district.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, Phillip of Minneapolis, Don of Nevada and David at home; one daughter, Ann Hull of Ames; three grand children; two brothers, Lawrence of Nevada and Ted of Boone; and one sister, Mrs. Harvey Kyle of Ames. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established and my be sent to Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. tonight.
